Questions
How accurate is the night sky?
The stars are placed for the date, time and city you choose, in that city's local time (daylight saving included), corrected for the slow drift of the sky over the years. They are drawn from about 5,000 of the brightest stars in the sky; only those above the horizon at that moment appear, with constellation lines as a guide. The Moon and the planets are not shown.
How do I print it?
The PDF is exactly the size of the paper (A4, A3 or 50×70 cm) at 300 dpi (200 dpi for 50×70), which is what print shops ask for. Choose “actual size” or 100% when printing. Matte paper of 200 g/m² or more looks best.
Can I change the design after buying?
Yes. Your licence key unlocks the downloads in this browser; you can edit and download again. The key works up to 10 times, for example on another device. One purchase is for one design for personal use.
Where do the maps come from?
Country outlines are from Natural Earth (public domain), drawn in your browser. Borders follow Natural Earth's de facto lines. Overseas territories far from the mainland (for example Svalbard, French Guiana, Alaska) are left out so the main country stays large.
What happens to my data?
Your design is made in your browser and is only saved in the page link and in this browser. Nothing you type is uploaded. When you unlock, only the licence key is sent, to check it with Gumroad. Gumroad handles the payment under its own privacy policy. See our privacy page.
